THE SHOW: MARI HWYR!
Come and celebrate the yearly cycle of life and the Welsh folk customs and rituals that bring people together at the turn of the seasons. Mari Hwyr! is a folkloric exploration of some of Wales’ oldest traditions, bringing together the solstices and equinoxes, the Mari Lwyd and the Cadi Ha in an energetic contemporary dance performance for the outdoors. Bursting with colour and wonder, Mari Hwyr! harnesses the spirit of folk infused with the frenetic energy of hyperpop in an awe inspiring symphony of dance, circus and design. Mari Hwyr! celebrates nature's power to bring communities of people together to express themselves culturally.
Commissioned by Green Man Festival 2025 and is a development of Osian Meilir’s previous work - Mari Ha! (2024) a co-commission between Mentre Bro Morgannwg, The National Eisteddfod and Green Man Festival.
