Osian Meilir is looking for 2/3 dancers for the creation, development and tour of their new contemporary dance work for the outdoors, QWERIN.

Charged with joy, QWERIN is inspired by the weaving, flowing patterns of Welsh folk dance combined with the pulsating energy of Queer nightlife. QWERIN comments on notions of Queerness and Welshness and explores the intersections between these identities in a folkloric celebration of culture, identity and community. QWERIN was created last summer as a commission from Articulture and the Wales Outdoor Art Consortium and is being developed into a full length work this summer (2022) with funding support from Arts Council Wales.

Creation / development period: 11th – 29th of July (3 weeks)

Performances: 3rd, 4th, 19th, 20th of August, 10, 11th of September (more performance dates tbc)

Location: Cardiff, Wales

Applicants will need to be available for the whole creation / development period and for all tour dates.

Applicants must be able to base themselves in Cardiff, South Wales.

There is no relocation fee for this opportunity.

Applications from all individuals are welcome.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, are Welsh speaking or learners and/or are from the Global Majority or other underrepresented communities.
